Welcome to Science 10!
For Science 10 Course Outline click here
Science 10 is a challenging course that is the culmination of the junior sciences with studies the four main branches of science; Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science and Physics. After this year, in grade 11 students will be able to choose the branch in Science they are truly interested in. Science 10 is also a course with a provincial exam. Students will be prepared for the exam during the semester, but helpful information can be found at the following links:
BC Ministry of Education Provincial Examinations: https://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams/
Use https://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams/ to find sample exams, exam schedules and to check exam results. The mark printed on the report card is only a school mark that is combined with the provincial exam mark. Students will need their PEN (personal education number) to check exam results. PENs can be found on the top of student report cards or please contact the office. The PEN is different from the school level student numbers.

Student Workbook
There is a student workbook that accompanies the BC Science 10 textbook used in class. I use some of the pages from the workbook as practice material, but I do not use the workbook enough to warrant having students pay for an entire workbook. I also consider the level and depth of questions in the workbook good for review of main ideas, but much easier than what would be expected on the provincial exam. However, if you would like more practice and review below are the workbook files:
